Since childhood Helen has maintained an interest in vocal harmony, and has over the past 15 years arranged for various a cappella groups, as well as acting as harmony director within other projects such as Women in Voice and Tell Heaven.
This pursuit, combined with years of teaching experience, has led to the development an ear-training course based on a cappella performance: this project is the basis for her Masters research at Griffith University.
Small Blessings: “My gospel-style tune was given a secular lyric by Leah and Meg, then recorded in gospel style with Erin Murphy’s choir “Qwired” plus a vocal quartet featuring Katie Noonan, Sharny Russell, Justin Stephenson and John Turnbull, with my brother Steve on the piano.” —HR
